The Red Sea Pedestrians were invited to Gorton Monastery on the 3rd August to be awarded with The Queens Award for Voluntary Service. Antony Wagman, Chair of Trustees, and seven other representatives were given the award by the High Sherriff of Greater Manchester, Mrs Sharman Birtles.
The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK. The award was created in 2002 to recognise the outstanding work that local volunteer groups do in their communities. It is the MBE for volunteer groups.
